However, to receive this tax refund, you must visit a medical institution officially certified and registerd by the Korean government, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, to treat foreign patients. 
 
As a government-certified medical institution for foreign patients, Yonsei JW Dental Clinic ensures that taxes are not applied for treatments with medical purposes, such as cavity treatment, implants, or braces. For cosmetic procedures like teeth whitening, veneers,  VAT (Value-Added Tax) is applied but can be fully refunded.

 
Additionally, to save you the hassle of completing refund procedures at the airport, we have partnered with KTP (Korea Tax-Free Payments) to provide an instant refund service. This allows you to receive your refund conveniently at the clinic right after making your payment.
 

 
The following are the eligibility criteria for the Tax Refund on Medical Expenses in Korea:
Visitors on a Medical or Tourist Visa:

• Those who have resided in Korea for more than six months are not eligible.
• You must be a short-term visitor for medical or tourism purposes.
  Those who have resided in Korea for more than six months are not eligible.

Aesthetic and Cosmetic Procedures:

• Procedures such as teeth whitening, Botox, fillers, or cosmetic surgeries are subject to VAT (Value-Added Tax) but are eligible for a refund.
• Treatments for medical purposes (e.g., cavity treatment, implants) do not incur VAT, so they are not eligible for a refund.
